Terms of use
Last updated
These are the ground rules for using BumperBuddy. By making an account or sending a note, you agree to them.
What BumperBuddy is
A sticker with a Buddy Code for your young driver's vehicle, and a private way for neighbors to send you notes about how they're driving: good notes and heads-ups. Notes go only to the parents.
Not for emergencies
BumperBuddy isn't an emergency service, and notes aren't read by anyone as they come in. If someone's in danger, call 911. Only write a note when you're safely stopped.
Who can use it
- Accounts are for parents and guardians, 18 or older. Only add drivers you're the parent or guardian of.
- The site is meant for adults. Kids don't need it and shouldn't use it.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
Notes from neighbors
- A note is one neighbor's view of what they saw. We don't check notes, and we can't promise they're right. Talk with your driver before you decide anything.
- If a note isn't true, mark it as false on your dashboard.
- When you send a note, be honest and kind. Don't use notes to bother or frighten a family, and don't describe something you didn't see.
- We may block notes and close accounts that break these rules.
Your Buddy Code and sticker
- You pick your code. It has to be one no one else has, and some letters can't go on a sticker.
- Initials or a nickname keep your child's name private.
- Put the sticker where it doesn't cover a window you need to see through, a light or a license plate, and follow the local rules for your vehicle.
Prices and payment
Notes are free during the pilot. When you order a sticker, you'll see the full price before you pay, and Stripe handles the payment. If something goes wrong with your sticker, see shipping and refunds.
Closing your account
You can close your account any time from Your account on your dashboard. That deletes your family's information, as our privacy policy explains. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you by email if we do.
The fine print, in plain words
- We work hard to keep BumperBuddy running and your information safe, but the site is offered as it is. We can't promise it will never be down or never make a mistake.
- BumperBuddy can't control how anyone drives, and isn't responsible for what drivers or neighbors do. As far as the law allows, the most we're responsible for is what you paid us in the last 12 months.
- These terms follow the laws of the State of Mississippi.
- If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll tell you by email.
